Service and
Road Department
The Service Department is responsible
for maintaining 134 lane miles of Township
roadways, two (2) cemeteries,
and eight (8) parks. The department has 13
service workers, 1 head mechanic, a Road Superintendent,
Administrative Assistant and
a Service Director.
It is the
Service Department's primary job to keep the
roads in good condition no matter what the
season. When the threat of snow has passed they
repair roads, re-establish ditches for proper
stormwater runoff, keep storm drains clean and
open, remove problem trees in rights-of-way, and
assist the Township with numerous other jobs
that would otherwise have to be contracted
elsewhere. Three days a year the Service
Department staff helps with the set-up and clean-up of the
annual Concord Township Community Days' celebration
that takes place over Labor Day
weekend. |

BRUSH
DAYS
Concord
Township's next brush days drop off will
be held at the Service Department May
10th and May 17th between the hours of
8:00 am until 2:00pm. Materials
will be processed into wood chips that
are available to Concord Township
residents. Only limbs, twigs,
branches with a diameter of four inches
or smaller will be permitted. No
tree stumps, pallets, contaminated
material, trash, leaves, grass, lumber
or railroad ties will be accepted.
Please call 354-7510 ext 119 with any
questions. |

RECYCLING
As of January 1, 2008 the Service
Department has been assigned the task of
managing the recycling program in the
Township. We will make every
effort to operate the program
effectively and encourage the residents
to call the Service Director at 354-7510
ext 108 if you have any questions or
comments. |
Sod and Grass Repair
If the
sod on a Township Roadway has been
damaged by our snowplowing equipment,
please call 354-7510 x 108 to report it.
Damaged areas will be repaired in the
spring with screened topsoil and grass
seed. The Township is not
responsible for damage to landscaping
and sprinkler heads located within the
Township owned right-of-way. The
right-of-ways are important areas needed
for snow storage during the snow plowing
operations. Therefore, it is
recommended that residents remove and
relocate objects such as fences or large
rocks that could hamper or be damaged by
the snow removal efforts. |
IRRIGATION SYSTEMS
Concord Township residents should
be aware that lawn irrigation systems should not
be installed within the road right-of-way.
Sprinkler heads and lines are sometimes damaged
by snow removal efforts and road repair
projects. The standard road right-of-way
can be established by measuring 30' from the
center of the roadway. On cul-de-sacs,
irrigation systems should be placed at least 10'
from the roadway. Irrigation systems that
are within the road right-of-way are not subject
to repair by the Service Department.
