Auburn-Crile Connector Road Improvement Project

The Auburn-Crile Connector Road Improvement Project began August 2015, which includes the extension of Capital Parkway from Auburn Road, crossing St. Rt. 44 and over to Crile Road. As part of this initial phase, St. Rt. 44 will be improved with a new intersection and traffic signalization, and Crile Road will be relocated to accommodate the road extension. A roundabout will also be constructed at Auburn Road and Capital Parkway. The first phase of construction will extend into the Spring of 2016. Upon completion of the first phase, the second phase of road work will begin with a new configuration of the intersection at Auburn and Crile Roads at St. Rt. 44. The project is scheduled for completion by the end of the 2016 construction season.

Karvo Paving Company is the designated lead contractor for the project, and the Ohio Dept. of Transportation, District 12, is overseeing the project construction.

Construction Updates

We are working with ODOT and the contractor to post addiitional signage and pavement markings to improve traffic circulation. Such things as directional arrows for the Hospital, more No Left Turn signage and No Turnaround at Red Hawk will be installed. These improvements will become evident in the Spring. In the meantime, we ask for your continued patience and adherence to the new traffic flow.

Other roadway improvement changes in this area will be the road resurfacing of Auburn Road under the I-90 bridge. The Lake County Engineer's Office will be working on this over the Summer of 2017.
